KILL007RE: EMBRACE OF THORNS: ...for I see Death in their Eyes... Re-issue cd+bonus track. Ten years have passed since the recording and the original release of EMBRACE OF THORNS' debut fullength.Initially released as a cassete lp in 2007 and hailed upon release by the thriving underground metal underground ,f.i.s.d.i.t.e still retains its barbaric and oppressive aura. Militant & pummeling War drums are uniquely accompanied by a suffocating guitar tone, Bulldozer bass and Devilpig's vocalization which functions as a catalyst that makes the record even more unholy, claustrophobic and desperate. This re-issue will feature the "Annihilation Scrolls" track as a bonus for the first time on cd.That track was recorded back to back with the album and was included in the "litanies of Sacrilege" vinyl compilation. To make this release unique, new artwork was submitted by Sgt.Vomitor who had inked the original LP released back in 2008. Invictus Productions sets February 13th as the international release date for Naddred's debut demo, Sluagh, on cassette tape.
A new Irish entity featuring members of Slidhr and Eternal Helcaraxe and former members of Sol Axis, Naddred are truly a summation of their combined experience in the black metal trenches. Across the four tracks comprising Sluagh, the quartet whip forth a fury of gnarly-yet-nuanced black metal, ably balancing beyond-the-shade atmosphere with palpably physical force. As an opening statement, it bespeaks an already firm confidence as well as underlining the still-growing power of Irish black metal: the torch has been lit with Sluagh, and Naddred are carrying it. Work on the third album has been completed. We are currently anticipating a mid-2017 release date. An audio sample and more information will be posted as the release draws nearer. Cover art by Raul Gonzalez.
Italy’s funeral death doom enigma FUOCO FATUO have completed work on their new album 'Backwater' which is set to be released on April 7th on CD/2xLP/Digital through Profound Lore Records.
'Backwater' is an enveloping and suffocating funeral death doom opus, the distressing awareness of the nothingness, transcending in the oblivion, and feeding on the black void. The relationship between state of mind and nature, the desolation and vast sense of distance are the main themes. An introspective, mournful journey, deeply rooted into the unknown. Like a flood of impenetrable black magma. From the coming album 'Sol Nox'. To be released by Shadow Records in 2017. www.facebook.com/OfermodOfficial www.facebook.com/shadowrecords.se
The new DISMA limited edition 12”EP 'The Graveless Remains' features two new enormous and monolithic tracks of pure doom-ridden old school death metal from DISMA, the first new material from the band in five years.
Ever since the release of their 2011 debut LP “Towards The Megalith” (one of the most hailed death metal releases of that year), New Jersey based old school doom-ridden death metal band DISMA have made a huge impact in the American death metal scene. Featuring none other than legendary death metal vocalist Craig Pillard (ex-Incantation and one of the most influential death metal vocalists ever), along with ex-Incantation guitarist Bill Venner, bassist Randi Stokes, and now featuring ex-Immolation drummer Craig Smilowski (who played on the seminal and classic first two Immolation albums) amongst the ranks, DISMA are truly a death metal powerhouse to behold. With a thick, monstrous, dirge-like wall of sound marred by enormous tones of pure and total death, the band’s new 12” EP “The Graveless Remains” features DISMA’s first new material in almost five years. With the band slowly writing the follow up LP to “Towards The Megalith”, we have decided to release this exclusive and limited 12” vinyl EP to tide the DISMA legions over, until the next LP, with two massive new tracks and to introduce new drummer Craig Smilowski into the fold.
Invictus Productions sets March 13th as the international release date for Consummation's debut EP, Ritual Severance.
Consummation are an Australian black/death metal band based in Brisbane and who also share members with Impetuous Ritual. In 2012, they released a self-titled debut demo, which showed a startlingly accomplished aesthetic for an otherwise brand-new band. Patiently lying in wait, perfecting their craft in the shadows, Consummation are now prepared to make a grand, garish strike with Ritual Severance. Encompassing two tracks in 21 minutes, Ritual Severance is a gibbering maw of intensity and tension. The songwriting's serpentine and slipstreaming, the execution's crazed and commanding, the recording's raw yet rounded: Consummation take viscous bestiality and give it leathery dragon-wings of atmosphere. And yet, for all the lurking menace across Ritual Severance, there's a striking amount of nuance in kind, the quintet keenly knowing when to scale back the attack and let the sinister energies simmer. As such, these two tracks feel more focused and shorter than their fairly epic lengths; not surprisingly, their respective titles - "The Weightless Grip of Fire" and "Blighted Ovum" - vividly illustrate the music's central contents. Damned, disgusting, and dragged through both space and swarm: the Ritual Severance commences with Consummation!
London’s premium metal force Craven Idol unleash their second album of ruthless first wave blackened thrash in the vein of early Bathory, Gospel Of The Horns, Manilla Road, and Inquisiton.
After four years of toil, the U.K. four-piece present: The Shackles Of Mammon, an uncompromising and unique blend of tag-less extreme metal from the early days of horrible hellnoise. Inspirations are many; Be it heavy metal Gods such as Mercyful Fate, Candlemass, Sortilege or Manilla Road; Early pioneers like Poison (Ger), Samael, Razor, Bathory, Venom; Pretenders to the throne like Gospel Of The Horns, D666, Inquisiton… But don’t be fooled – this is no tribute act. Recorded at Birmingham’s Priority Studios and engineered by Esoteric’s Greg Chandler (and mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound), The Shackles Of Mammon boasts an old school production as well as Craven Idol’s most fierce and varied songs to date. The album boasts artwork by the extraordinarily twisted Daniel Corcuera. The artist’s powerful take on Sascha Schneider’s 1896 wood carving ‘Mammon und sein Sklave’ is a striking work of art. Lyrically the album deals with the vices of man, the plagues they unleashed upon themselves, and the rationalisation of its own actions – be it in tragedy or ruin – through the creation of deities and cults. Mammon the - Demon of Avarice - reigns above all, whilst the black arts and countless religions seek to justify human failure. |
