Hi there! How does it feel to be back in the Metal scene after some years? Filii Nigrantium Infernalum is not a very prolific band, as your previous work, the "A Queda...Sodoma Em Ascensão" EP dates from 2002, and the previous MCD, "A era do abutre", from 1995. Why haven't you released more stuff? Is this going to change after this new album? Well… You never truly know. Who knows, anyway? The only thing I know, individually unspeaking, is that only God and Allah know… And The 7 three bearded Prophets. We only release that which must be released; or else – That which might be released. For all every 7 years change of cycle, we’re compelled to erupt some black heavy vomit into tose black hearts and necrocunts which adore our Muse, descending from Abraham and the intestinal primigenial chaos of Mahoma. Praise the Lords. No future. How is the new album "Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator" being received? How do you feel with this CD? Are you satisfied with everything concerning it? A very nice reception, in fact! Check for instance the latest Terrorizer issue, in which there’s a “Fellatrix DISCORDIA PANTOKRATOR” review, rated with 8/10 and very nice words. And there’s also the excellent reviews in Portugal, from Loud! Magazine to Darkness Anthem Webzine, and in other places ofr this raped and crucified Planet Heart: http:// www.kuravilu.cl, http://www.lordsofmetal.nl, http://www.friedhof-magazine.com or www.metalreview.com. And the bad reviews… I love’em too! They all say that my voice is annoying and really BAD. Well, WORSE THAN EVER! Are you MORBID? The whole album was a fucking pain in the ass, really interesting and absortbing, but we spent lots of time on production and things like some guest or extra features... So we’re proud as HELL, yeah. Unhumblebly, We really think this is a contribution for METAL. Well... Time will tell. I might be wrong. Explain us a bit about all the composition and recording of this new album? How long did it take you? Did it all start after the previous EP? In fact, things have never been quite secure or certain with Filii Nigrantium Infernalium. But I find somehow boring reading lineup changes and band-bio stories, so I don’t really want to talk very much about it (sorry!), ‘cause then I won’t have to read it. To sumarize, let’s say that this album contains music and lyrics created and slowly fermented throughout almost 8 years of me playing with several musicians, but mostly me playing my guitar in the several rooms I’ve been living and twisting my mind. Then I gathered a whole line-up: Samhain, Tormentor and Lopo, and we recorded “A QUEDA: SODOMA EM ASCENSÃO” (Picture disc EP containing 2 songs: “Moïra” and “Puta Infernal”, released through the small collectors oriented label Tenser Records). Shortly after this release, there was a friendly split-up (lack of time was the only reason, anyway), before we ever got to play live, and some time later I rejoined HELREGNI (our former bassist in the miniCD “A ERA DO ABUTRE”, a metallian from the heart) and some drummers passed by until ARNO MAALM came in and impulsed us forward really hard, introducing some speed beats in our Classical DARK Heavy Metal. So that was the beginning of systematic rehearsing for new concerts, after 7 years of being away from stages. This was the real BAND process for “FELLATRIX DISCORDIA PANTOKRATOR”, also with guitarist ANDREMON entering the group and adding a powerful arrangement, compositive and soloing value (and backing vocals, yeah!). Due to some badluck and internal problems, MAALM was replaced by GORG, our current drummer, who finnaly recorded the drums in the Album. So… In the end, I guess this was a long answer. Sorry for the huge bore, You children of God! May Allah accept You in his Omnipotent and BLACK GRIM UGLY beards, you BASTARDS! “Down to your knees and repent if you please” As I've never listened to your previous works, I'd like to know the similitudes and differences between this work and the ones before. Which were and are your main influences? I think old Black/Thrash Metal and even Heavy Metal had a big influence on Filii Nigrantium Infernalum. Of course: Our influences, mainly, remain those of 1995 or 1998 or 2002, and CUM from our favourite musical works. From Celtic Frost (including the “Cold lake”, proud Glammin’ Metal, Oh yeah!) to Carnivore, from Venom to Bathory, from WASP to gods gods gods HALFORD/JUDAS PRIEST, from Kiss to Voïvod, Motorhead… Naturally and fuck-a-like, the classic METAL, from Heavy to Black, along with Speed and thrassjhhhhhhhhh… The best bands ever, I must add. Ah, don’t forget Slayer and Possessed. And Sarcófago, ha! Personally, I also enjoy deeply Ángeles del Infierno, Muro and Santa (Spanish Heavy Metal bands, 80’s and 90’s). About the lyrical concept, I don't have the lyrics of the album, but I think your songs speak about occult themes, and I read somewhere that they are a bit influenced by Lovecraft's works too. Explain us all the concept behind them. Any books/movies/... that had a big influence on you? I never finished any Lovecraft’s book, and I regret it since it really must be valuable, but I get bored with his utterly descriptive style… What I like is symbolist poetry, decadent late XIXth century poetry, specially Jules Laforgue, also Verlaine and others. I like books like Cadalso’s “Noches Lúgubres”,for instance. Grim existencial reflections, quite lamentative in Fact. Well, I like a lot of different art-creations, but my main inffluence in Filii is Symbolism and Decadent aesthetics, from poetry (Laforgue) to painting or novel (Huysmans, Wilde). Also some filosophical writers and Lewis Carrol. The Bible is also utterly inspiring. And the Marx Brothers, along with Monty Python. And Private productions. Samuel Beckett. See, FELLATRIX is my representation of existence’s essencial or nuclear edge, the way I sometimes metaphorically consider it: A dark, grim, slow, tormentous WHEEL,handed by one or two or even three capricious GODS (never more than three), which we’re tied to. Sometimes, most of times, we’re under dark waters, being tortured on the Wheel: GRACE OF GOD. But then, before complete exhaustion, He takes us out of the drowning waters, to breathe some air… sometimes, venomous air; sometimes, refreshing and powerinjecting air… FELLATRIX is the Avatar under which DIsCORD, the central principle of Existence, turns the wheel of Life: judging ALL – Pan to Krator. Halleluyah – Agony is the Law: DEO GRATIAS. (A bief summ of the songs: First, “Calypso” is the follow-uop of our previous song “Puta Infernal” –leaving “reality” behind, and diving into flesh and opiacious sensuality; then, “BORDEL no ÉDEN”, a depressive lamentation on life’s driving forces; then, “AZUR”, a soft apology of suicidal eroticism ... in fact, like “Puta Infernal”, this is the way I write “love” songs; then “Morte Geométrica”, a poem on Pangea´s execution in the hands of God’s children-Mankind... The rest of the songs go ahead, balancing from grimace and death, horror and FALL) I think the cover of "Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator" is just fantastic according to your music, and the colours choosed for it are just perfect. What did you want to transmit with it? Who did it? With which cover designers would you like to work with? THAAAAANXXX!! Well, there`s a lot of work and work and work behind, because we really wanted the cover to express and represent the contents of the album. The figure standing voluptuosly is Fellatrix Discordia – It’s author: Luís NETO, the EXCLUSIVE FILII NIGRANTIUM INFERNALIUM ArtMaster, our Iconic Wizzard, the only one. If He ever quits, we’ll abandon the cover part of the records. No Future! I know you were playing in Vigo some days ago with The Firstborn and Decayed. How was it to be again on stage? Are you planning other gigs to show your new work? Any band you'd like to play with? Where would you like to play the most? NECROROCK’n’ROLL, man! We do thrashin’ rippin’ blasphemous FUN. We like to party on pornosarcastic feasts of TRUE NECROGLAM METAL – NECRO ROCK’n’ROLL. The killing machine gets louder and heavier everyday. Word of the Lord!(Isaiah, 14) We’d love to play with Sarcófago or Possessed, for instance. But we’ve been lovin’ playing and outbursting with Decayed, The Firstborn, Vizir, Panzerfrost, Opus Draconis, Teasanna Satanna and Sortilege... Twisted Sister would RULE! Do the members of Filii Nigrantium Infernalium play in other bands or have other projects related to music? Did you play in other bands before this one? How different is the metal scene nowadays from the one that ruled when you started with this band? Wellllll… Yeah! It’s always changing, the law of the dice! The Universal Necrocunt sucking us into Its jaws of necrorroarrrghness. NecroGlam Victory is Ours! What can you tell us about todays extreme metal scene in Portugal? Which bands surprised you? Which are your three favourite albums from 2005? Theriomorphic, Simbiose, Grog, Decayed, Vizir, We were wolves… Many bands. The scene... No comments. But We do our part- SEX, DRINKS and METAL. Matança e Orgia de TREVAS. Ok, then this is all for now. I hope this time you won't last too much time to release some new stuff. Good luck! If you want to say something else ... Yes, of course, I always want to say something else, like RRRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! and check www.infernalium.com and www.bignaturals.com. and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and co llap se ONLY GOD IS REAL BTHZR ROCK HARD - RIDE FREE APENAS A MORTE É REAL
