Four years passed by when Spain's Empty offered their previous superb album Etica Profana Negativa. In this occasion, we have their fifth full-length work. Here, we can find an Empty in a phenomenal creative moment of evolution, since Empty has brought their proposal a step beyond. It´s hard to mention any other band from the world scene with this vision and attitude when making music. Black metal? Sure, with this label the album could be defined, but it would not be the most suitable way…
Vacío is an overwhelming and desolating mixture of emotions and sensations. It´s inspired by the book La Lluvia Amarilla ("The Yellow Rain") by Julio Llamazares. This album shows a long, bitter, and fateful journey to oblivion and nothingness. Its own title reflects the nature of the message: the memory of Death, which from an ominous shadow, it became a tangible and palpable presence; the blind acceptance of the fate that removes our trace and dilutes our existence in time.
Vacío transforms all this pile of sentiments into 46 minutes of music through seven tracks. A soprano contributed to some passages in the album. Also MR. J.M. from Ataraxy collaborated with keyboards. The band dares to play a cover version of Arcana, and so they are once more pioneers in exploring the darkest corridors of the human psyche.
The atmosphere surrounding this album takes to a terribly dark mental state - pessimist but at the same time brutally realistic. The band is away from the topics and stereotypes of black metal, and offer an amazing sample of honesty and realism. This is one of those cases that words can´t describe what one feels in some circumstances; however, the music draws a scenario that performs the message and the feel perfectly. The amazing and singular artwork helps one to understand the context of this album, where pictures and texts complement this new work of Empty.
Without any doubt we are before "The Swangsong of the Black Swan” of the band, recommended for people with judgment and people who look for something more than fun and banality in music.
1 The yellow rain
3. The rope at the mill
4. We all taste the same for the worms
5. The night remains for who is
6. The pilgrim of desolation
7. Filandom under the sign of misfortune
The new Dispirit album is now up on bandcamp for streaming/purchase. It will be available on cassette on their upcoming west coast tour, and available for mailorder when they return.
Once again the songs were recorded live in the studio, this time with two tracks new tracks "Besotted by Feral Whims", and "Golden Scar".
"Golden Scar" is an older track written before R. Jencks and T. Deschryver left the band, twisting through funeral doom, psychedelic, raw black metal meditations on bad vibes. "Feral Whims" is a new track written with the new lineup, now with H. Burkhart and G.Brace on drums as well as some old material by first guitarist N. Sarma. Ignoring the semi-improvised psyche/deathrock intro, this material is Dispirit's fastest and most 'straight ahead' black metal song.
HELLS HEADBANGERS is proud to present IMPIETY's classic debut album, Asateerul Awaleen, on vinyl format again. Only 300 copies pressed on red vinyl and 222 copies pressed on picture discs, both with gatefold covers and silver hotfoil.
Singapore's foremost extreme metal import, IMPIETY began in the dark, fateful days of the early '90s, and thus their debut album is a sign of the times. Back then, IMPIETY took the more goatly aspects of their early, EP-era sound and here kicked up the blitzkrieg speed immensely, harshing out the production in a more blizzard-like aspect not unlike their Norwegian contemporaries. What resulted on Asateerul Awaleen is a unique synthesis of north and south, frost and fire, of nuclear barbarism and icy majesty.
While the sold out 7" EP was a vile first broken bottle attack, the debut record of Kwade Droes is a full blown rancid carpet bombing in praise of crime, goat worship, rural bigotry and spiteful hatred towards everything safe and progressive. Betuws & Boos, prepare to shit your teeth out after hearing this piece of possessed violence!
Invictus Productions presents the full artwork by none other than Adrian Baxter and a new track from Lucifericon’s forthcoming debut album, Al-Khem-Me, out on Friday October 5th.
Having previously released their mini album Brimstone Altar via Invictus, the band have accelerated their attack and intensity with their debut album and shows a style that is steeped in the grand traditions of Death Metal from the late 80s and early 90s.
