"Resvrrezionespiritval" is the second volume in a series of four split-LPs through which the French hermetic dark metal act known as YSENGRIN is going to concretise its magnum opus, inspired by Alchemy's four stages: Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas and Rubedo. Co-produced by I, Voidhanger and NWN Prod., the previous chapter "Nigrum Nigrius Nigro" saw Chile's amazing Black Grail coming up beside YSENGRIN along their path to enlightenment. The result was an artistic observation on the decomposion of matter, mirrored in YSENGRIN's audacious mix of dark ambient and ancient metal on the verge of putrefaction, and counterbalanced by Black Grail's 15-minute epic of mystic black art.
"Resvrrezionespiritval" is the next step in YSENGRIN's "solve et coagula" path, the Albedo step of purification following the Nigredo process. Compared to what was on offer on the first volume, here YSENGRIN embrace their old song-oriented formula once again, shaping their music around Guido Saint Roch's hauting bass lines and keys, Inkantator Koura's magnetic vocals and Aboth's solid drumming. Scrupulously mastered at Temple Of Disharmony, these 3 recordings come without rhythm guitars, but Saint Roch's bass layers and Koura's roars are rich enough to make their hermetic dark metal deeper and heavier than ever, qualifying YSENGRIN as one of today's most adventurous bands. The spiritual resurrection proceeds with SARTEGOS' blackened death metal filling the LP's second side. Versed in occultism and satanism, the band from Galicia offers 2 new long recordings perfecting the sulphurous atmospheres of its debut EP "As Fontes Do Negrume", released on vinyl by I, Voidhanger Records in 2013. SARTEGOS' songs evoke and transcend death at the same time, riding on obscure riffs and mesmerizing solos. Like a spiritual ouroboros, YSENGRIN's "solar birth" finds its culmination in the shadows of SARTEGOS' crypt-metal, as perfectly captured on the sumptuous album cover drawn by renowned artist Marko Marov. "Resvrrezionespiritval" is an underground metal artifact dedicated to all those who seek knowledge through darkness.

PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a brand new mini-album from black metal disciples FIDES INVERSA, appropriately titled Rite of Inverse Incarnation. But harken! This time, the duo has broken their boundaries and invited two more entities into their creative realm. Comprising two, nearly 10-minute songs, Rite of Inverse Incarnation is a natural followup to the critically acclaimed Mysterium Tremendum et Fascinans, released during the autumn of 2014 by W.T.C. But this new record also marks something different and more furious, as they decided to invite Wraath on vocals and Unhold on bass. Recorded during one intense day and night in Germany, this recording will surely leave a mark upon the devout as it did on its practitioners. Instead of further words, head the statement from FIDES INVERSA about these Rites: "An act of dedication, respect, and birth of a brotherhood. A vision brought to life by some of the few in this scene who say what they mean and mean what they say. Become the living truth! Hail Satan!" The release date for “Rite Of Inverse Incarnation” is set for January, 13th, 2017.

Just as the cold comes creeping after the fires has gone out, Murg returns with their second creation 'Gudatall'. Risen from the ashes of what once was, this piece of art appears with the full fiery force of contemporary black metal. In a ferocious dance among coal dust and mists "Gudatall" occupies our senses with a strong sense of innovation and loneliness. Far from life itself, barefoot towards our origin, Murg is a raging cloud of soot and sulphur that pollute our lungs with a musical magic without equal. Blackened atmospheric and ferocious Metal!
...Forged in fire and shaped by The Master, SHAARIMOTH is the sound of a thousand raging hearts, the Devil's music manifest...
W.T.C. PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SHAARIMOTH's long-awaited second album, Temple of the Adversarial Fire, to be released for European territories on January 13th. Ever aptly titled, Temple of the Adversarial Fire is a bold and brazen reinvention for this Norwegian trio, fully in line with the band's spiritual beliefs. More than the cliché "phoenix rising from the flames," SHAARIMOTH have stripped down their aesthetic to its barest essentials, and then rebuilt them into an incendiary, black-smoke-billowing monolith of blackened death metal majesty. Rarely in the nowadays metal underground will one hear a death metal record this pure and reverential in its intent whilst being so suffused with the blackest of blood. A glorious new epoch has arrived, and SHAARIMOTH are ushering it in with Temple of the Adversarial Fire. Formed in 2004 but tracing its origins back to 1998, SHAARIMOTH emerged from the then-barren Norwegian death metal underground, and along with it, so did new incantations of darkness, death, and destruction. Both dark and ecstatic, furious and violent, defying genres, but at the same time paying tribute to its predecessors of the black arts, SHAARIMOTH's goals were firm from the very beginning. Building upon its unique take of technical Morbid Angel-esque death metal with dark ambient interludes and occult lyrical content, SHAARIMOTH is not music; it is ritual. A sonic vehicle of occult propaganda, created to manifest dark currents by the means of music, the trio worked in earnest on their first public recording. That record, the debut album named Current 11, was released in 2005 via Carnal Records, and dealt primarily with Chao-Gnosticism as approached through the prism of ancient Sumerian tradition. The album immediately became an underground cult, and the status was undoubtedly reinforced through years of worship. Following the album's release, SHAARIMOTH withdrew from the public eye for many years, only to break the silence now. Hereby, the band announce its inexorable return and rebirth with Temple of Adversarial Fire! The time of the Fire is drawing nearer, and new bonds have been forged in its flames. With one hoof firmly planted on each side of the Atlantic Ocean, WORLD TERROR COMMITTEE (Europe) and Daemon Worship Productions (North America) are the labels chosen by SHAARIMOTH to collaborate in the release of their monumental second album, making sure that its incantations will resonate loud and clear, far and near. Indeed, Temple of Adversarial Fire is a monument: 11 songs in 47 minutes that feel far more vast and expansive than this concise running time suggests. Over that psychic/sonic terrain, the trio canvass a frightening, feral landscape that bridges the terrestrial and the Beyond. It is the blackest of death metal, rendered with the ceremony of a Roman Empire procession, cloaked in sulfur and reeking of brimstone. It is a vision that's limitless, and yet demanding the steeliest fortitude to behold. Are you prepared to bear witness? For SHAARIMOTH is the truth that will burn your world to the ground.

London-based shapeshifters CODE will release a new EP titled "Lost Signal" on January 25th via Agonia Records.
Watch a video trailer for this release below: "Lost Signal" is a meeting of ages and a blurring of lines. In the Summer of 2015, CODE spent some time in a studio in England to experiment with tracks from their back catalogue of four albums. The idea was to re-visit past works from a different angle and "Lost Signal" is the result. The EP features three songs from their most recent album "Mut" (2015), performed with a strong metallic approach. It also features three further songs, one from each of the first three albums performed in a more subtle and introspective style similar to that seen on the "Mut" album. The result is a release that alternatively emphasises the subtlety and heaviness of the band's sound and provides a chance to hear these songs in a completely new way.
The songs featured on the EP are:
- "On Blinding Larks", "Cocoon" and "Affliction" from the "Mut" album. - "The Rattle of Black Teeth" from the "Resplendent Grotesque" album. - "The Lazarus Cord" from the "Augur Nox" album. - "Brass Dogs" from the "Nouveau Gloaming" album. Produced and mixed by the band themselves, this is the sound of CODE exploring the dichotomy within their music and producing a release of rich power, melody and dynamics. www.facebook.com/codeblackmetal agoniarecords.com
It has been over five years since Bestial Raids last planted its deflowered, demonic seed in the underground. Now, as a worthy follow-up to its masterpiece second full-length album, “Prime Evil Damnation,” Nuclear War Now! is once again proud to have conspired with the band in its release of “Master Satan’s Witchery.” With its previous opus, Bestial Raids earned its acclamation as one of the most furious bestial black metal bands active today.
During the recording hiatus that has preceded this release of its newest album, the band chose not to lay dormant, but instead established itself as one of the most powerful live acts in the entire genre, which it demonstrated with authority as one of the select highlights of the Nuclear War Now! Festival Volume IV in November of 2014. In a gesture that is certain to please this Polish horde’s most ardent supporters, “Master Satan’s Witchery” largely maintains the very same barbaric formula that earned the aforementioned praise that was bestowed upon the album’s predecessor and which has further been confirmed by the band’s more recent live performances. This recording again showcases the devastation with which Sadist’s cudgeling bass lines act in unison with Desolator’s uncompromising percussive onslaught to enact a seismic convulsion of the earth below, while Necron’s diabolical riffs simultaneously raze the crumbling landscape above. Throughout this cataclysmic event, Sadist’s unhallowed vocal exhortations continue to beckon for more violence and destruction until there are no physical or spiritual remnants of the holy for the feeble-minded to worship. These trademark characteristics of Bestial Raids’ discography notwithstanding, one element of “Master Satan’s Witchery” which distinguishes itself from previous recordings is the more notable presence of mid-paced song segments that contrast with the more prevalent bestial attacks. In fact, one could reasonably draw a parallel between this added ingredient and the music of Doombringer, with whom Sadist is also involved. That said, this album is undeniably an extension of Bestial Raids’ previous efforts, and these deviations effectively serve to augment and enhance rather than usurp the violent effect with which the band is most readily associated, thus emphasizing its status as a standard-bearer for the current generation of bestial black metal.
What Graceless Dawn is the forthcoming full-length from dark ethereal doom bringers WORM OUROBOROS. Recorded and mixed at Oakland's Earhammer Studios by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Pallbearer, Noothgrush), the stunning six-track offering will see its official unveiling on December 2nd, 2016 via Profound Lore Records.
In advance of its release, the ten-plus-minute psalm "'(Was It) The Cruelest Thing' conveys a quiet and restrained sense of urgency. The dual harmonies of [bassist/vocalist Lorraine] Rath and [guitarist/vocalist Jessica] Way create an uplifting feeling that follows their voices throughout the song, complemented by [drummer Aesop] Dekker's impressive performance behind the kit. " Adds the band, "In many ways this album is darker and rawer than our previous two, and hope plays a smaller role. '(Was It) The Cruelest Thing' is a love song to the memory of beauty when hope and light are extinguished. It's the lie the heart manufactures in order to keep beating once all context is gone."
With their third full-length, What Graceless Dawn, WORM OUROBOROS have brought into existence their deepest and most moving work to date. The follow-up to 2012's critically-lauded Come The Thaw LP finds the Oakland-based trio of bassist/vocalist Lorraine Rath (ex-The Gault, Amber Asylum), guitarist/vocalist Jessica Way (Barren Harvest), and drummer Aesop Dekker (Vhol, ex-Agalloch, Ludicra) elevating the WORM OUROBOROS sound to a new echelon of sophistication through their amalgam of morose, 4AD-esque doom, introspective death rock, dark ambient, and enchanting chamber music. Through obsessive bass lines, ambient guitar movements, layers and overtones, the alluring vocal intertwining between Rath and Way, and Dekker's subtle-yet-procession-like percussion, What Graceless Dawn is a sonic vision of tragedy and despair, one of the saddest, most crippling, and gut-wrenching releases in the realm of heavy, dark, introspective music to bring the curtain down on the year.
Tracklisting for “What Graceless Dawn” goes as follows: 1. Day 2. Broken Movements 3. Suffering Tree 4. Ribbon Of Shadow 5. (Was It) The Cruelest Thing 6. Night www.facebook.com/WormOuroboros www.profoundlorerecords.com
With GNAW THEIR TONGUES' latest full-length calamity, Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent, nearing release in early December, a new track from the opus has been unveiled through an exclusive stream of "Silent Burned Atrocities".
Fully performed and recorded at the Bejaarde II, Drachten, by GNAW THEIR TONGUES founder Mories who also mixed and mastered the album, Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent also features guest vocals on "Our Mouths Ridden With Worms" by Hekte Zaren. The record features an abusive eight tracks of some of the outfit's most sincerely bleak tunes. GNAW THEIR TONGUES isolates and intensifies the building blocks of metal. In place of accustomed vocals are gut-shredding wails, jammed through harsh post-processing. Orthodox guitar riffs are nonexistent, substituted for distorted ambient noise. Haunting spoken word and hymnal passages litter the soundscape, abstract interjections are the norm." |
